Oak Street Update 10/18
Flowers, good eats, and incredible fall days. Could life be any better?

In the Market:
Wednesday is coffee day in the market. We are so excited to begin carrying FinerGrinds coffees (you may have met Woody Wiginton at East Lake Farmer's Market this summer) and will be brewing our first pot early Wednesday morning. Come see us, sample, and discover the wonders of really exquisit coffee.

We still have a bounty of apples, fresh sweet corn from Georgia, ripe & juicy tomatoes from north Alabama, arugula and spring salad mix from Michael Dean, Cumberland Spur apples from Petals from the Past, and  really lovely snap beans and eggplant.

Our first Souper Saturday was a great success and later today you can find the recipes on our blog: www.oakstreetgardenshopandlocalmarket.blogspot.com
Cheryl will be cooking again this Saturday, so stay tuned for her Souper Saturday selection (sssss....too many s's!)

In the Nursery:
Kate is unpacking new accessories as quick as the boxes are rolling in the door. She has great-looking fall containers and the greenhouse is filled with beautiful flowers to pack them full.  Succulent wreaths become an unexpected centerpiece and present wonderful colors and textures.

Outdoors, pansies and violas rule. But don't overlook the goodies you must plant now for a spectacular spring garden - foxglove, hollyhocks, etc. To keep up with what's happening now in the garden, check out Kris's blog posts at

Enjoy your week, and remember to check out the new coffee selections on Wednesday.
